AniOnline is a non-traditional webcomic and former avatar community modeled after Play-by-Post Roleplay Games and uses a PHP Bulletin Board as a medium. AniOnline attempts to capture the unprofessional and unorganized magic of the community it's named after by recreating user-run events into one big, dense story. It's a modern fantasy about teenagers rebelling against corrupt authority, whether or not order and chaos can co-exist, and a bunch of supernatural god-like beings that have no clue what they're doing and are terrified of screwing everything up. It's convoluted, self aware, sometimes crude, and sometimes heartbreaking.
